NaNo, what have you done to me?

NaNo progresses in an internet-referential fashion. I just ended the as-told-to-me story of a vampire taxi driver with "So I friended him on Livejournal."

Really good progress so far. 4700+ words (haven't counted all of them for the night yet) so far. Nicolae the 203-year-old taxi driver has a lot to say still. I bet he has some really goth icons, and at least one icon that explains how his Dickensean principles have been strained to the max. Nick's a funny guy.

Runcy is stressed

Here we go again!

Approaching that time again, and I'm excited! Have already bought my NaNo T-shirt for the year. Really, as it's mid-October, plot and character development should outrank the T-shirt, but it's NaNo. It's about fun. And you know what's fun? Retail therapy and conversation-starting T-shirts, that's what.

Plot and characterization is fun too, which is why NaNo. This year I've decided that the alternate-fantasy-world did not work out as well as I'd hoped - partly because I got hooked on Templar, Arizona, one of the spiffiest webcomics I've run across recently and a much finer example of the alternate-city than I could ever produce. Instead, it's time to return to my roots: space opera.
